AMY KRIEGEL Owner of Creation Station, Studio City ...has spent most of her life working with and around children. At a very early age Amy began her study of dance, music and theater. This passion continued throughout her child and adulthood as she performed in numerous stage, film and television productions. She continued her passion for the creative arts throughout her tenure at the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. After completing her undergraduate work, she began teaching music and dance in and around Los Angeles to the pre-school set. She soon went back to school to gain the educational expertise to work with kids, and received her graduate degree at USC where she earned her Masters in Science of Education with a concentration in Child Development. After completing her credential and degree, Amy spent the next several years working with elementary school children in the Los Angeles Unified School District. During this time, she also began developing a music and movement curriculum that would excite and stimulate children, engage their imaginations and nurture their creative spirits. Amy started to bring these programs to a variety of private schools and centers throughout the Los Angeles area and soon discovered that she could utilize these experiences at home with the birth of her daughter, and later, twins. The next step was to bring all of her parenting, educational and arts experiences together. Amy found just the place to do this at Creation Station in Studio City. Creation Station had been around since 1992 and offered classes that were in sync with Amy’s teaching and parenting styles. When her daughters began taking classes at the studio, Amy knew she wanted to be more involved with Creation Station. Amy partnered with Judy Carmen, the founder of Creation Station, to expand the Studio City location. The two women increased the programming, moved to a terrific new space, tripled the enrollment and made the San Fernando Valley studio the jewel in the growing Creation Station crown. Amy has found the perfect fit as a mother and an educator in growing this enrichment studio for children of all ages to express themselves and develop a love and appreciation for the creative arts.
